Orange...

The new color of my living room. It's called Pumpkin Spice. Scott picked it out, even against my best wishes. I wanted something more of a "yam" but he wanted to add color. Color is right. Although, it's starting to grow on me. He's in the midst of painting right now (painting is something I DON'T do unless it's on paper - I'm hideous when it comes to painting) and I'm watching him transform our formerly neutral walls into this splash of orange. Of course, colors are now speeding through my mind. I might even get new living room furniture! I wonder what will blend with it. I'm dreaming of black & white photos in 12x12 frames in a square pattern above our mantel. Ah yes...this might work out after all!

Hopefully when our life gets back to normal (i.e. living room back in order) I'll be able to download some photos of the finished room. I'm too excited!

Let's talk guilty pleasures

You know - those things that you LOVE but don't really want everyone else to know because you'd feel like a total geek? Well, this is confession time. I ran over to Borders today during lunch. (Borders is my downfall - I love to go over there and pick up magazines, books, etc.) Anyway, I was looking for a good CD to listen to while designing. I'm trying to finish up some CHA releases and I wanted some music that was fun and of course 80's.

I was looking for They Might Be Giants and somehow found myself over in the "N's" because I obviously don't know how to follow the alphabet. That's when I saw it..."Jordan Knight performs New Kids on the Block - The Remix Album". My jaw almost hit the floor. Then, I was intrigued. Ah yes...the New Kids on the Block. LOVED them. Still do. There it is - my guilty pleasure. The minute I hear "Please don't go girl", I immediately return to a time of innocence. A time when I was about 13, had braces, large hair, tight-rolled pants and my best friend, Jenny, and I would listen to them 24/7. We lived, breathed, ate, and slept the NKOTB.

I couldn't help myself. I bought it. Morbid curiosity set in and I had to have it. It's not too bad - although I would prefer the original Step by Step. Jordan didn't do a bad job. Of course, listening to him sing "Please don't go girl" was just not right. It was Joe's song. Otherwise, it's not a bad CD if you want to be instantly transformed back into middle school. Oh, and he has the demo of "I'll be your everything" which they wrote and Tommy Page performed.

Listening to it makes me think of Jon Knight. Yes - I was a Jon girl. He was probably the least popular New Kid but man was he hot! (Jon - if you're reading this - I would still marry you!) My mom used to yell at me for plastering posters of Jon all over my room. Not one single inch was left uncovered. It was my shrine.

Ok - so there you have it. I was a New Kids geek. But, I loved it and still do. It was such a HUGE part of my pre-teen years. I even went to see them when I was 17. They came to Cincinnati to a small dive called Bogarts and my friend and I ditched school to wait in line to be in the front when they hit the stage. (No assigned seating there - first come, first serve.) I think I'm the only person that owns "Face the Music" which was their 1994 release and last album. They even did a song for the Free Willy soundtrack.

I think I might need to scrapbook all of this. :)

My husband read my blog

I didn't think he even knew anything really about what I do, then he said something about Cold Stone Creamery. I was trying to remember if I told him. Then he confessed that he read my blog. He wanted to see if I said anything about him, which I hadn't to this point. He's such a quiet person that I try not to talk about him much. But, honey, if you're reading this, I love you! :)

I usually reserve my blog for talks about generic things, not really family or politics, etc. I also like to talk about scrapbooking, as it pretty much consumes my time whenever I'm not with my family. I guess I'm feeling guilty for not blogging about my husband and my daughter.

Well, let me tell you - they are the two most important people in my life. Scott works hard, he's a great dad, he's a hottie, and he's funny. He always makes me crack up, even if I'm madder than a wet hen with him. (By the way, I have a lot of southern roots, and sometimes I have funny sayings - blame it on my mom) Maggie is my angel. My one sweet, precious child. The only child I'll probably ever have and I dote on her 24/7. Last night we walked the treadmill together. My five-year-old loves to wallk on the treadmill. We try to walk outside sometimes but the weather has been nasty and we live in a community without sidewalks and crazy teenagers that don't obey speed limits. Enough said on that one. Occasionally we'll drive over to the park and walk their trail. They have a 2 1/2 mile trail that winds around a small lake. It's beautiful to watch and she likes the scenery. But, when we're home, it's treadmill city. She's going to be five in July and starts kindergarten this fall. Talk about emotions! (and photo ops!)

That's my family. Scott and Maggie. I also have an oversized family with my mom and my brothers and their families. I'd have to draw you a chart for that one. I also need to get some photos uploaded on here. I'm so bad about technology. I just don't take full advantage of it. I'm too much of a plain Jane. I just recently invested in the digital SLR. I love it - can't imagine life without it, but I don't use it to it's full capacity.

I'm so bad.

I've gotta have your...

Photograph. Ok - it's dorky. I'm a self-professed dork. Today during lunch I ran to the mall looking for a CD to listen to while at work. I was searching for different soundtracks and came across "VAULT - Def Leppard's Greatest Hits". OMG! Talk about going back to 7th grade in a matter of minutes! Hysteria was probably one of the biggest albums when I was in middle school. I had it on tape and would listen to it constantly. Yes - Def Leppard was my favorite band all through 7th grade until five boys from Boston came onto the scene. Once the New Kids on the Block wave started, my love for Def Leppard was over. But, it's amazing how quick you come back to the music. I ended up buying Vault and surprisingly I remember all of the lyrics like it was yesterday. Now, if I could only find my black Hysteria concert tee.

Let there be Internet access...

I have lived three days without the Internet and I feel so disconnected from the rest of the world. Apparently on Friday morning lightning struck near my house and literally FRIED our modem. We spent most of the weekend on the phone with TW Cable to get our DSL back and they finally said that the modem is fried and we have to bring it in to get a replacement. The agony is horrible! I could not wait to get into work today just to get online and catch up on e-mails, what's going on in the scrapbooking world, etc.

Then, I go to WW yesterday and only lost two pounds. All that starving for two pounds! But, that's better than gaining two, so I'm trying to go with the glass is half-full concept. After leaving the meeting, I immediately marched myself over to the mall to get a pair of running shoes. So, here I sit in a spanking new pair of Nike running shoes. I haven't ran since my senior year of high school, but for some reason I ran last night and this morning. They feel really good on my feet - nice and comfy. I almost forgot what running shoes feel like. I've been wearing plain old school Adidas or Converse for the past few years. I think I might have to convert back.

There was also my crop on Saturday night. They might have also added to my 2 lb loss. I got over to my friend's house at 7:00 and they were discussing Cold Stone Creamery. Now, if you don't have one nearby, let me explain this concept to you. You pick a delicious, heavenly flavor of ice cream and then add whatever you want to it. They have EVERYTHING. Snickers, Reese Cups, Brownies, Cookie Dough, Fudge, Cake, Gummy Bears, etc. You pick the mix-in.

Next thing I know, we're all piled in the car and headed to the Cold Stone. My mind kept telling me "no" but my taste buds and stomach were rebelling and telling my brain to shut up! Alas - I got the "like it" size with brownies and cookie dough. Bad, Bad, BAD! But, I got the smallest size of the whole group. I tried to get the kiddie size but that's for 12 and under. In any event, I cherished every bite, then felt so guilty afterwards that I could barely get any scrapping done. Yes - that was my crop night on Saturday. I completed one page that I'm not really that fond of. Oh well...at least I had ice cream!

So, I'm back on track. Yesterday I was good, today I have started off even better. We'll see how things go. I was up early this morning on the treadmill, so the 2 lbs must have done something beneficial.

I have also been in a hoarding mode with my scrapbook supplies. I think it's because I've been watching my food, so I need to overload on something else. What better than paper? I shopped two days this weekend looking for supplies, and that's after receiving an ENORMOUS box from Rocky Mountain Hobbies. I bought nearly 300 sheets of paper yesterday! I found those DCWV Stacks of paper on sale, so I bought two of the cardstocks and one of the Slabs. Couldn't help myself. Scott said that I have completely lost my mind when I walked in with them. He just shook his head and kept watching the ballgame. I might not be able to eat the Hershey bar but I can hoard as much paper as I want!

Yes folks - it's FRIDAY!

What can I say other than IT'S FRIDAY! I love Fridays. They give me this renewed hope of actually having time to scrapbook. I actually have cropping plans this weekend and am looking forward to them. I have two friends that I've had for a long time and I'm heading over to their house to do some cropping. They recently started scrapbooking, so it's fun to share ideas and supplies. Speaking of supplies - I got my RMH order and WOW! Lots of fun stuff to play with. I can't wait!!!

Tomorrow morning Maggie is going on the Breast Cancer walk. My brother and sister-in-law take her every year. I love the fact that my daughter has great family that enjoys spending time with her. Scott is working and I'm doing the pre-crop thing. You know - print out photos, blow up other photos, do some computer journaling, pack up 9 billion things to take with you. Oh, and I'm doing laundry. I swear, the stuff breeds in the laundry room!

Weather today is crappy. It's raining and cold and now they're predicting snow. It's nearly May and they are talking snow. The last time I checked, May is in the SPRING. Good thing I was too lazy to pack away all of our winter clothes last week. I guess I should hold onto them for a few more weeks.

Speaking of clothes, I've recently started weight watchers. It's not too bad except that I miss chocolate. I also miss Uno's Pizza, but the chocolate is killing me. Cookies, brownies, whatever. As long as it has some form of chocolate, I'll eat it. Of course, my skin is clearing up and I've lost 7 lbs, but boy am I a grumpy one. I also refuse to buy any new clothes right now. My pants are already loose, but I refuse to buy anything until I've at least hit my first goal which will be two pant sizes. If anyone has any suspenders, let me know so I can borrow them for a few months.

Till next time...

And here it is...

My blog. Ironically, I've had a "blog" for about three years now, but it's not listed in a public forum. It's on a private site. I always considered it a journal and not a "blog", but "blog" sounds hipper. More cool, I suppose. In any event, now I'm doing the public blog. Why? I guess because I can. Besides, anyone who knows me knows I love to talk. What better way for me to ramble than on a blog!

I contemplated the name for quite a few days. Then, it hit me! I remember talking with my good buddy Sarah, and we were laughing about anything "Bought, Sold or Processed" from the movie Say Anything. So, I decided to go with that for my title. Don't ask me how it relates to scrapbooking. But I'm into movies and just bought Say Anything, so I figured it was desitiny. (by the way, don't look for proper grammar, punctuation, etc. in here. Won't happen.)

For those who might know me, you know that I'm a product designer and a scrapbooker. Scrapbooking is the greatest thing next to my husband and daughter. I love having a job that allows me to work and play all at the same time. Although it can be stressful, it's so worth it. The people in the industry are amazing and I've made quite a few friends. What more could a girl ask for? Not much I'd say!
