Confessions of a picky eater...

Ok - here's where things get rough whenever I meet new people. (Or, have a new job)I'm a picky eater. To the point of embarrassment sometimes because on any given day I don't eat most things - eggs, mayo, salad, seafood, sour cream, etc., etc. I have a very basic palette and although I'll venture every once in a while, right now I'm just not that into it because I'm doing weight watchers and most stuff I eat is pretty bland. I don't want to go off or over my points.

Today we had lunch scheduled at work. The entire team is going out and they want to do Thai.

Guess what? I don't do Thai. It's not my cup of tea. Nor Sushi (which is their other offering). They ask if I like Thai. Of course, what do I do? I say "no". So, they switched lunch. Do I feel like a jerk now? Yes.

Mmmm that looks good. =D

I probably would have just went with it and eaten plain rice or something and then snuck a Snickers bar later. LOL

Hard to say, because I can and will eat anything, obviously.

Looks delish to me!

You probably won't like the recipe that I'll be posting on my blog tomorrow :-[

I can definitely relate to this one. I grew up with a mother who didn't do anything but basic and now I'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl. Don't put the funky lettuce or anything spicy or raw in front of me because I just can't handle it! LOL. I just tried Thai for the first time about a year ago and it wasn't too bad - I even tried the peanut sauce. I guess I'm getting better! :)

You don't like sour cream?! Silly girl! :) Lots of catching up to do here with you!

That actually looks great to me, but it wouldn't have years ago. I kinda know how you feel, though. I am not much of a seafood eater at all, and we have vacationed with other couples who love it and can't understand why my family has no taste for salmon or shrimp, etc. I'm trying to be more willing to venture out of my comfort zone and try some new recipes and different types of foods, though. And often I'm pleasantly surprised that things are really quite tasty, despite my negative expectations.

I hear ya! I'm tremendously picky and am forever feeling like a dork for not liking whatever food the crowd picked for lunch. It sucks!
