The Phantom, names and more....

Ok - so I'm going to try to make an effort to blog more consistently. I just don't have a lot to talk about - my life is rather boring. :) But, I did do something cool yesterday.

Scott and I went downtown to see Phantom of the Opera. It's an amazing story, breathtaking music, etc. But, in all of it's glory I was left feeling rather "eh" about it.

I loved being down there with my husband. (Yes - Earl is back in the good graces) I enjoyed the buzz of downtown. I miss it considering I worked there for three years. I even enjoyed 90% of the show but it was like something was missing. It wasn't as breathtaking as it was the last time I saw it. Not sure why. The only thing that I could think of (with Scott's help) is that the Phantom just wasn't the same - of course each Phantom has his own following and this one was not one for me. The music was "choppy" if that makes sense. His lyrics didn't flow like the last one. It was almost too dramatic. But, it's still worth seeing- especially if you've never been.

Then - there is the ever present name debate rearing it's ugly head again. I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on Addison. I love it - LOVE it dearly, but there are other names I like as well. Thinking of doing a poll. LOL! Of course, every family member has their opinion on what it should be. Here are some that I've narrowed down:

Addison
Meredith
Sadie
Samantha

Scott's dad and I both like Samantha (which is a miracle considering we NEVER agree on anything). I actually like all of them and Mallory was my favorite but Scott vetoed that immediately. Sadie is one my mom likes. Meredith is all mine - I love that name. And, Addison is a favorite among most friends. We originally thought we were set with Addison but now comes the rethinking part. At this point - I'm thinking we need to wait until she's born and then go from there.

So, I'm welcoming any suggestions. :)

Ging- Glad you got to see Phantom of the Opera. That must have been a lot of fun to be on a "date" with Scott.
About the names, I really like Addison, but Meredith is also a favorite. I think you'll know which name is right for her when you see her.

I have to say I love Meredith the best - it immediately caught my eye when reading your choices. After all, her nickname could be Merry and what a happy person that would represent! When I saw Sadie, the first thing that came to my mind was the song Sexy Sadie by The Beatles. So I'm mixed on that name. Too bad Mallory was vetoed....

The name game...such a tough decision. I had the problem of my husband vetoing everything that I wanted. We were going to name our first Samantha Grace, then he was a boy and then we were going to name our second McKenna Reece, then it was another BOY!!!

I'm feeling Addison though, very unqiue, make sure that the middle name doesn't have any D's though, otherwise you'll always be out of them scrappy wise, gotta remember the important things LOL!

on the name game, we had our daughter's name picked out from the minute she was concieved and almost changed it when she was born. she looked like a victoria.
we kept her orignal name Kamillia...Kami for short

I think you should just let your husband pick the name. He seems to be a great person. :)

If you are talking name associations then alot people relate addison to the disease. and my grandmother's cow was sadie and the cleaning woman.

Samantha is a nice name

I saw Phantom in NY what seems like a million years ago (1988 maybe?). I just loved it. But I did love Les Miz more, which I saw in NY and New Orleans.

Anyway, I like all your names, but I love Sadie. It was one of my choices that the husband didn't like. gggrrrrr.......You'll love whatever you decide, and before you know it, you won't be able to imagine your new little one with any other name.

Just chiming in...

I love Sadie-- she's almost guaranteed to be the only one-- but my DH vetoed it. I love Meredith, too; also unique, and very pretty.

Addison, though, may be more common than you think; I know two or three (and one's a boy!).
